Mums-to-be learn how to birth without fear

On 24 October, Birth Wight will be hosting a Relax, Breathe and Birth workshop at East Newport Children’s Centre, from 10am-noon. Places are strictly limited and cost £25 per person.

A FREE place is being offered as a prize for new enquirers registering for the monthly Birth Wight Hypnobirthing Happenings e-newsletter. Competition entries must be received by 17 October.

The two hour workshop acts as a standalone workshop for mums-to-be, to support their pregnancy and birth, or; provides a great introduction to the complete Wise Hippo Birthing Programme, also offered by the company.

Mums will learn more about the physiology of birth, how their body and mind can be trained to work together to create a calm and comfortable birth, to gain some insight into how others have used or worked with the techniques, and ultimately to support them as they seek a positive birth experience. Film footage interviews will be shown, with both mums, who have had confident, comfortable births, and midwives who have witnessed birth as you rarely see portrayed in the media.

Helen Wheller of Birth Wight, said: “This short course gives more women the chance to learn about how their body works, how relaxation can aid a comfortable labour and birth, and teach them to tap into their natural instincts and trust their birth body. I am pleased to be able to offer this workshop through the East Newport Children's Centre and spread positive birth education further across the island.”

Attendees from the Relax, Breathe and Birth workshop can redeem their attendance against the complete programme should they wish to progress and learn more. An relaxing MP3 for pregnancy and labour relaxation is also available to attendees for £10.

Any mums-to-be interested in attending should book their place, as places are extremely limited, by emailing: contactus@birthwight.co.uk or calling Helen on 07793 544565.
